Guide to Blocking Users

While using Stickifax, you may find other users who use the platform in ways you do not like, but do not violate our user guidelines. When that happens, you have the option to block them from interacting with you on Stickifax. If you administer a community on Stickifax, you may set the community as a private one to prevent unconfirmed users from interacting with the community, or you may block them from interacting with the community.

If you need to unblock a user you have blocked from your user profile or a community profile, you can do this by following the relevant steps above, where you will find the "Block User" option with respect to the user changed to "Unblock User".

What Happens When a User Is Blocked

  • Access to your profile.
When a user has been blocked, they will not be presented with your posts when they open your profile page.
  • Level of obscurity.
Although blocked users may not be able to see your posts on your profile, they may stumble upon a post belonging to you, or posted to a community you administer through other avenues such as posts you share to communities with a public privacy setting, or having opened your profile before you blocked them.
If a blocked user does come across your post, they will not be able to interact with the post (such as by commenting, liking, or bookmarking) as long as the block is in place.
  • Interactions history.
When you block a user from your profile page, all previous interactions with your profile — posts liked, comments made on posts, one person following the other, and other such interactions — between you and that user get deleted. Messages exchanged, however, will remain in place, and only get deleted when you choose to "Delete all messages" between you and that user, if any exist, via the chat page for messages between you and said user.
When you block a user from a community, all previous interactions with the community or posts to the community are deleted.
